With a single click of a button, this workflow automatically:
- Generates a high-quality, SEO-friendly article about a specific product (e.g., “Are Elevated Dog Bowls Worth It?”).
- Creates a custom AI image using Nano Banana to make the post visually appealing.
- Publishes a full blog post to Tumblr (no WordPress website required) complete with Amazon Affiliate links inserted automatically every 4 paragraphs.
- Distributes content to Reddit and Pinterest, creating posts that link back to the Tumblr article.
The Outcome: You get three entry points of traffic (Tumblr, Reddit, Pinterest) all funneling users to your affiliate links, running completely on autopilot.
Affiliate marketing usually requires a hosting plan, a domain name, and a WordPress site. But what if you could skip all that overhead?
In this guide, I’m going to show you how to use Tumblr as your main content hub. Tumblr is lenient with affiliate links, free to use, and ranks well in search engines. We will connect it with Make.com, Article AI Generator, and Nano Banana to build a fully automated affiliate machine.
Here is the step-by-step blueprint.
Step 1: Create Your Niche Tumblr Blog
Since we aren’t using WordPress, Tumblr will be our “website.”
- Log into Tumblr and click + New to create a secondary blog.
- Choose a Niche: For this example, we are using the “Dog Niche.”
- Name it: e.g., “Dog Stuff Lover.”
- Create: Hit create, and your “website” is now live for free.
Step 2: The Make.com Setup
We are going to use a blueprint to set up the automation logic.
- Import the Blueprint: Download the JSON file (linked in the resources) and import it into Make.com.
- Swap WordPress for Tumblr:
- Locate the “Post to WordPress” module in the template and delete it.
- Click the + button and search for Tumblr.
- Select Create a Post.
- Connect Tumblr: Click “Add” to authenticate your Tumblr account and select the blog you just created (e.g., Dog Stuff Lover).
Step 3: Configuring the Content & Images
Now we need to map the data so the AI knows what to write and what images to display.
For the Article:
We use Article AI Generator. You will need your API key and User Key from their website.
- In the HTTP module for generating the article, paste your credentials.
- The Amazon Link Hack: Go to Amazon, grab your affiliate link for a search term (e.g., “Elevated Dog Bowls”), and paste it into the “adslink” parameter in the HTTP module.
- Set the placement to “4” (this inserts your affiliate link every 4 paragraphs automatically).
For the Image:
We use Nano Banana (via Klifgen) to generate images because they look fantastic on social feeds.
- Connect your Klifgen API key in the “Generate Pinterest Pin” HTTP module.
- This will create a unique image based on your keyword.
Step 4: Formatting the Tumblr Post
This is the most technical part, but it’s simple if you follow along. inside the Tumblr “Create a Post” module:
- Type: Select “Text.”
- Title: Map the title from the Article Generator node.
- Body: We need to render the image and the text. Use the following HTML format in the body field:
<img src="{Map_Image_URL_Here}" />
<br>
{Map_Article_Content_Here}
Replace the bracketed text with the actual data blocks from your previous modules.
Step 5: The Traffic Engine (Reddit & Pinterest)
We don’t want to just post to Tumblr; we want to drive traffic to Tumblr.
Pinterest Setup:
- Connect your Pinterest account.
- Select a board relevant to your niche (e.g., “Best Cooker” or “Dog Bowls”).
- The Link: Instead of linking to Amazon directly (which Pinterest hates), link to your Tumblr post.
- You will need to construct the URL dynamically: https://www.tumblr.com/yourblogname/{Post_ID}/{Slug}.
Reddit Setup:
- Create a Subreddit for your niche (e.g., r/DogStuffLover).
- In the Reddit module, map the Title and the Link.
- Just like Pinterest, ensure the link points to your new Tumblr post.
Step 6: The Trigger (Google Sheets)
Finally, we control the whole operation from a simple Google Sheet.
- Create a sheet with two columns: Keyword and Status.
- Paste a list of keywords (e.g., “Best elevated dog bowls,” “Are raised bowls good for dogs?”).
- Set the status to “Pending.”
- In Make.com, hook up the Google Sheets Watch Rows module to this sheet.
Conclusion: The Automated Flow
Once you click Run:
- Make.com reads the keyword from Google Sheets.
- It generates an article and injects your Amazon Affiliate link.
- It creates a custom AI image.
- It publishes everything to Tumblr.
- It takes that Tumblr link and broadcasts it to Reddit and Pinterest.
You now have a fully automated ecosystem building backlinks and driving traffic to your affiliate offers, all without paying for a website hosting plan!
